Clashes Between Azerbaijan And Armenia In Nagorno-Karabakh Region

BBC News (CAUCASUS) – Azerbaijan launched a heavy assault against the Armenian occupied region of Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh. Eighteen Armenian soldiers died and twelve Azerbaijan soldiers died in the clashes. Both sides reported civilian casualties and claim the other side struck first. The conflict is in danger of spreading into a regional war if both sides do not come to terms of peace soon. Belgian Authorities Charge Third Man Over France Terror Plot

BBC News (BRUSSELS) – Belgian authorities charged a third man, known only as Y A, in a plot to commit a terrorist act in France. The arrests came about in the aftermath of the Brussels attacks and the arrest of Reda Kriket on 24 March. Concerns Rise Over Coming EU-Turkey Migrant Deal

BBC News (ATHENS) – The European Union came to terms with Turkey to relieve Greece of migrants by returning them to Turkey if they cannot apply for asylum or if authorities reject their claim. The plan starts on 4 April as an effort to curb the pressure of the refugee crisis besieging Europe. The plan includes resettlement in the EU for a migrant in Turkey for every migrant returned to Turkey with priority given to those who did not try to migrate illegally. Amnesty International Reports Thousands Of Migrants Returned to Syria By Turkey

New York Times (CAIRO) – Amnesty International, a human rights organization, collected eye witness accounts in Turkey’s Hatay province of Turkish authorities rounding up 100+ groups of Syrian men, women, and children and forcing them across the border into Syria since January 2016. Turkey denied these allegations in the past and if proven true acts as a violation of international law. This report comes in the wake of an EU deal to transport Syrian refugees from Greece back to Turkey. Wikileaks Posted Apparent Plan By IMF To Hasten EU-Greece Deal

Reuters (ATHENS) – Greek officials expressed outrage at an apparent leaked transcript suggesting the International Monetary Fund may pull out of the Greek bailout force European lenders to offer more debt relief. The transcript, posted by Wikileaks, indicates three IMF officials discussing ways to make the EU and Greece come to a deal by threatening to pull out of the third bailout program before the UK’s referendum to decide whether or not to remain an EU member state in June.
